Commutes 22 Miles RoundTrip for 9 years and 6 months
Five Days a week, I use my bike to travel to and from work Year Round

My commute route has been tweaked over time, as I'm always looking for a slightly less trafficy, fewer left turn, better pavement route. As a result my commute home is slightly different than my commute in to work. Also, over the years, the commute route has gotten longer as either I've moved or my office moved or my employer changed. It's now 11 miles one way unless I skip the ferry ride and go to the bridge at the other end of the island where I work, then it's not quite 17 miles one way.

I've been bike commuting since I moved to the Bay Area, and last year I manged to do 4000+ miles bike commuting, in addition to my regular recreational riding. I have several bikes, each presumably for different conditions.

I've met lots of nice people commuting, particularly on the Ferry ride across the Oakland Estuary to work on Alameda Island.
