Commutes 20 Miles RoundTrip for 1 years and months
Seven days a week, my bike is my primary transportation Year Round

All downhill in the morning (only a couple minutes slower than driving at rush hour). Mostly on major arterials that have been recently resurfaced with wide curb lanes. There worst section is the steep hill to connect between downtown and the eastern suburbs - the easiest route for me is in heavy traffic with 6 narrow lanes.

Like many of you, I have been branded the neighborhood nut for using a bike for personal transportation. I started biking when my personal car decided to stop working in good weather last year. It still ran in bad weather, but every time I used it in good weather something else would break. I can take a hint.

I really love how the drivers here are so concerned for my safety. With the MTB I always get at least one driver who lowers the passenger window to tell me in a very kind and concerned voice, "You know, you realy should be on the sidewalk." The recumbent takes care of this as the "What the ---- is that?!" effect still hasn't worn off by the time they lose the opportunity.
