About a month ago I started riding two days a week from downtown Austin where I live to the Arboretum in NW Austin where I work. I hope to add a day to that for 3 days a week minimum. It's 12 miles one-way, slightly uphill on the way out and slightly downhill on the way in and takes about 1 hour each way. The ride gets easier every time I do it and it's energizing on the way in and relaxing on the way home. For two years I road the bus, but service cutbacks have made it too unreliable and I hated being stuck in traffic with cars so I have been driving, until now.
