Commutes 14 Miles RoundTrip for 30 years and months
Seven days a week, my bike is my primary transportation Year Round

I work in a bike shop; serve a local congregation as a music worship leader and music teacher, and tutor private students. I use my bike to get to all of these jobs. (Helpful Hint: have a second guitar that lives at your teaching destination so you don't have to tow the good one in the rain.)

I began commuting by bike at age ten to avoid getting beaten up on the school bus. The commute was three miles each way. I owned a car briefly in my late 20's; a miserable and expensive experience. I sold the car after less than three years, went back to the back and haven't regretted it. Neither has my checkbook; I save probably three to five grand a year by not owning a car, and my generally good health (from all the bicycling) means fewer trips to the doctor's office.

Wanna commute by bike more? Get a good rain jacket or cape and a waterproof bag, and you can ride pretty much year round in many places.
