Street route is 14 miles r/t, but I prefer a longer ride on the Burke Gilman. 3 mile descent/climb between home and trail on Perkins Way, a steep, curvy, forested road with adjacent salmon stream - beautiful. Cut through University of Washington campus between trail and work, one steep hill there with plenty of cute coeds to distract.
I ride 3-4 times a week in summer, but much less during snowboarding season. 2003 is epic, I'm boarding 2-4 times a week since mid November! Life is good. I have a collection of classic lightweight bicycles, and mountain bike with my St.Bernard named Tess.
Tens of thousands of miles of happy pedaling, with only two hits by cars. One only damaged bike, the other had significant scrapes and bruises. I feel very lucky.
