Commutes Kilometers RoundTrip for 3 years and months
Five Days a week, I use my bike to travel to and from work Summer Time Only

when it's colder out, i'll stick to city streets and not do anything fancy. However, the majority of the rides start at 0430 with a night/twilight ride down a cool hill in to the River Valley by the zoo, then it's over the bridge and around Hawrelak Park, through Emily Murphy Park, pass by Kinsmen Center, up the hill and around the riverbend, back down to the Riverboat Bridge, up the hill past "shanty" town and the Conference Center and into work. Cool thing avbout the valley route, is that there are options of which way to go to either shorten or lengthen the ride, and they all involve a hill. Victoria Golf Course hill, the hill behind and through the Ledgislature grounds, the 103rd street hill (16% grade!).

Snce I started riding, everything about me has changed for the better. I've dropped 40 pounds, and feel way better about myself. I've another 40 to go now, but I can do it! My standing heart rate is about 52bpm now as well. I've done a 24 hour race in Canmore, and want to do another, and last summer my wife and I did 215 km's of the Kettle Valley Railway route. This year it's Whistler for 3 days!

Too many to mention, but I'd talk about any of themorning rides where my lights pick up all the eyes in the forest of creatures watching me go by, or the pollen that was blowing so hard it looked like a snowstorm at midnight, but it was 26 above out...or that couple behind the big tree near the zoo doing...well, you can all imagine...the woman going prematurely grey to prove a point who harassed my family about bikes and dogs not mixing was also very entertaining.
