Commutes 18 Miles RoundTrip for 4 years and 7 months
Seven days a week, my bike is my primary transportation Year Round

I actually have a relatively easy commute route from home-to-work, work-training hall, training hall-home. It is basic and therefore not difficult to stay in the routine. When I am injured I use the bus or walk. Sometimes I accept a ride from a co-worker who lives close. I do not own a car, so if I am in a motorized vehicle, there is always at least one other person in that vehicle. I no longer drive either. Bike commuting has meant freedom and independence.

I am a 47.5 year old African-American woman. I use my bicycle for transportation. I am also a martial artist. I co-own a Taekwon-Do studio where I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt and teach 12 classes per week.
