Commutes 2 Miles RoundTrip for 25 years and months
Seven days a week, my bike is my primary transportation Year Round

I ride a short trip to my office as a college professor. It's hilly, but there's little traffic. I chose my house based on the bike commute. I ride all year around, even when it's bitter cold. I have had only two bike accidents in 40 years of biking, 25 years of bike commuting.

I teach computational biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy NY. I bike purely as a mode of transportation. I don't race the bike. My hair is gray, and my legs are like rocks.

On cold winter days, I wear my lycra mask over my goggles, and a black helmut over the mask. Some people say I look like "The Fly", some people say Darth Vader. Anyway, I'm warm.

I just discovered this web site. I hope you guys make an impact! If we all biked to work, think of how many of our problems would disappear...
