The route is mostly quiet residential streets (3 stop lights). It has many hills and few flat sections - its mostly coasting downhill or pedaling hard uphill. There is a short section on a dirt trail - a shortcut drivers can not take. My average speed is about 12 mph with a average cadence (when I am pedaling) of 65-75 rpm.
Age 50+. My car will not start any more so now I only travel by bicycle - to the grocery store, to work and for entertainment.
Twice in the last year I went over the handle bars (once on the road and once on a trail). I recommend always wearing long sleeves as removing gravel from ones arms is not a pleasant experience.
